New SDPL Library Computer System

The Library System currently uses SirsiDynix and are moving to Polaris for the management of the collections and our use of them.

There are several different processes that must be changed over, meaning that there are different services that will be unavailable for different periods of time. You will always be able to check out materials physically.

Between August 8 - 14, 2019, You will not be able to update your account information or pay library bills, and access to online resources may be affected.

Throughout the transition you will still be able to check out materials, and to register for a new account. We recommend that you simply retain all checked-out materials until the new system is operational.

SDPL has temporarily withdrawn from our local Circuit of libraries (San Diego County Library, SDSU Library, UCSD Library, and SDU Library). Circuit borrowing is expected to resume in October 2019.

Beginning July 29, 2019, Interlibrary Loans (ILL) from libraries outside of our Circuit will be suspended temporarily, but they will resume September 3, 2019.

Beginning July 25, 2019, the San Diego Public Library will temporarily stop accepting hold requests for library materials. Hold requests are expected to resume on or around August 14, 2019.

Thank you.We apologize for the inconvenience but expect you will find our new Collection Management System will be a significant improvement.
